The UniVerde Foundation and the Italian Geographical Society non-profit organization, promoted the 5th edition of the geographical and environmental photo competition "Target Earth," to promote the heritage of the Italian National and Regional Parks on the occasion of World Earth Day.

Award Ceremony
Speakers at the Award Ceremony of the members of the jury of experts:
Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio (President Foundation UniVerde);
Sergio Conti (President of the Società Geografica Italiana);
Giovanni Valentini (Journalist "La Repubblica");
Giuseppe Rovera (Journalist and host of "Ambiente Italia");
Giampiero Sammuri (Federparchi President and Chairman of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago);
Fulco Pratesi (Honorary President of WWF Italy);
Renato Grimaldi (General Director Ministry of Environment);
Rosalba Giugni (President Marevivo);

The journalist and host of "Lineablu" Donatella Bianchi will be the special testimonial of the2014 edition Target Earth and a member of the panel of experts.
The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize and the lucky shot will be exhibited on the occasion of the 44th World Earth Day (April 22, 2014) on a big poster in Rome, in the prestigious setting of Piazza Farnese.
6 honorable mentions will also be conferred to the winning photos of each of the following categories:
- Trees and Forests
- Animals
- Coastal area
- Agricultural landscape
- Villages (2014 European Year for conciliation between working life and family life)
- Family Agriculture (2014 UN International Year of Family Agriculture)
On the occasion of the Award Ceremony, pictures of the exhibition "Target Earth 2013: Force of Nature" and those of the Terna Group exhibition on their interventions to contain the environmental impact and to protect biodiversity will be shown.
