As a result of the substantial growth in the latest years and of the value of the brand, the new manufacturing facility of Il Nutrimento, from which 97% of the company’s turnover comes from, will be an up-to-date production structure, one of the biggest reference point for organic products in Italy, both for dimensions and capacity.
Probios inaugurates the new manufacturing facility of Il Nutrimento in Calenzano, 20 km far from Florence.
After the opening of the new headquarters of the group in 2015, the Tuscan company, that counts about 60 employees, decided to move the facility of Il Nutrimento, company founded in 1990 and part of the Probios Group, from Cremosano (CR) to Tuscany with a brand new 1750m 2 wide structure that, with the group leader, is one of the biggest reference point for organic products in Italy.
Il Nutrimento is a manufacturing company that works with organic fresh vegetables, cooked and flavored to prepare products from the Italian regional tradition, and contributes to the total turnover of the Group with about 3%. The new facility consists of 1100mq completely dedicated to production, 400mq to the warehouse and 250mq to the offices, and guarantees a productive capacity of approximately 4.000 pieces per hour. The overall investment to build the new structure and provide it with innovative machinery was of 1.5 million Euros.
“The new facility represents for us a step forward in the process of growth of the Group that, just in 2015, scored a 37 million Euros turnover” – claims Fernando Favilli, CEO of Probios – “our goal is to increase the short supply chain, using especially raw materials harvested in Italy or locally and processed in Tuscany, to create certified organic products that are going to be distributed internationally. After all, our reference market is global, and in that sense, our growth goals are extremely ambitious, even if we still wish to increase our close relationship with the territory”.
The company produces indeed sauces, condiments, flavored oils, capers, bruschettas and spread creams with olives and veggies, using raw materials mostly harvested in Italy, to ensure a shorter supply chain, the promotion of Italian organic agriculture and a reduced impact on the environment thanks to the shorter transportations.
