Recipe: strawberry donut with rose petals



INGREDIENTS FOR 12 PEOPLE:


- 350 g strawberries
- 320 g of flour
- 200 g of cane sugar
- 200 g of yogurt
- 160 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 roses dried edible
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- salt


PREPARATION:


1 - Cut into four 200 g strawberries, then dredge in flour and set aside.
2 - Gather in a bowl the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, a pinch of salt and the roses (or petals) well pounded in a mortar.
3 - Mix, in part, the melted butter in a double boiler, along with yogurt and eggs. Pour in the dry ingredients and then stir. Add the flour and stir strawberries for a few seconds. The mixture should be lumpy and rather dry, because the strawberries release a lot of water during cooking.
4 - Pour the mixture into a donut mold previously buttered and floured, decorate the surface with the remaining strawberries cut in half and sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar.
5 - Bake at 175 ° C for about an hour. After half an hour, cover the mold with aluminum foil to avoid overdrying the strawberries on the surface.
