Sliced Bread Pie - Panito


INGREDIENTS
  • With the bread that I had available (the pack is 225g) I used a perfectly square pan of 20 cm:
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Sliced the white bread. Grease a baking dish that is just to hold the slices and let the first layer (no need to remove the crust that is as soft like the rest of the bread), try not to leave an open space and to keep the bread thick dense.
  2. Stuff with what you like and have available. Here I have filled it with the chopped tomatoes seasoned with oregano and a little bit of olive oil and fresh smoked cheese.
  3. Cover with the other slices.
  4. At this point, beat 1 egg with a little drop of milk and sprinkle with a spoon on pie insisting especially in the corners and on the outside. Finish pouring it also over the bread. (do not overdo with the liquid, it must remain intact and crunchy)
  5. Then bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until the cake is golden brown
    Serve hot.
